Title: sanding and painting cabinet and control panel have questions?
Post by: drummer4261900 on January 26, 2014, 11:11:55 am
What grit sand paper do I need to use?  What kind of paint and primer should I use I was hoping to go buy some spray paint from Walmart?  I want to paint everything black.  I am going to cut a spot for my X Arcade 2 Player Joy Stick on Tuesday when it comes.  So there wont be any more holes.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm not sunow the professionals on here do it, but I start with 60 grit for a rough sand, than 120 grit to smooth it all out. Never built my own before, so I used 60 to get the paint off. After 120 grit I fill in any imperfections with wood filler and sand a second time with 120, than off to prime.

When priming I use 220 grit and do two coats, sanding between both.

But I'm a newby at this stuff
