Title: Video Converter / Upscaler Trouble (GBS-8200)
Post by: NightWolfx03 on January 23, 2014, 04:15:51 pm
I am working on a conversion at work, installing a large flat panel monitor into a Sega Harley Davidson. I picked up a sharp 42" Tv with a vga input, which sadly unlike the cheapo Dynex I did the initial test with, did not understand the machines output form the vga connector.

So I purchased a GBS-8200 V4 board from eBay and a US seller, and it works.. kind of.. The screen slowly fades to blue when it is receiving sync and signal, even if I unhook the blue line. Can anyone suggest if this is a faulty board or know what the trouble I am having is ? Or can you recommend a better converter that is in-expensive ?

Ok, So I tinkered with it for about an hour  I got it working. There are 2 settings on the board that I had to play with for about an hour to adjust and make it work right. I think they were labeled as Clamp SP and Clamp ST. I lowered them down to around the 60 range, factory default is 90 and 95. And the higher one always has to be higher than the other number.  If anyone finds this thread useful i can post a screen shot of the settings.

I was going to ask for this thread to be deleted, but maybe it will help someone else in the future.
