Title: What kinda plexiglass bolts on MK, KI, etc
Post by: Malenko on January 21, 2014, 08:17:03 am
I have 1/2" lathing screws in my Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat 2 machine, on the control panel around the edge holding the plexiglass down. I'd like to replace them with the factory bolts but I have NO IDEA what they are called or where to get them.

From what I've seen, they are carriage bolts.

I believe what you are describing looks like a rounded head once it's bolted down? If so, that's a carriage bolt.

Thread and pitch aren't going to matter, as long as the screw fits through the hole. You're going to be buying nuts with the bolts anyways, if they aren't included.

All that is to worry about is the length of the bolt. Just take  a tape measure and measure the thickness of your control panel and about 1/4" to 1/2".

And don't forget some washed for underneath, and maybe even some lock washers.

makes me think you've never seen the bottom of an MK panel.   There's no holes for the bolts to go through or I would have just bought 8 that fit in the holes.

Heres a pic form a KI2 cab.

the bolts through the bottom are from the metal overlay not the plexi bolts.
