Title: Maximus Arcade Question
Post by: PSKFF on January 14, 2014, 08:32:27 am
I've noticed that scrolling through my list of MAME games in Maximus Arcade is significantly slower when images are added for "snaps" and "marquees" as opposed to having no images assigned. At first I had used .jpg images, then found out thats a no-no. I have since changed all images to be .png files, and kept all of them at or under 1MB each. I have toggled with the "update screenshot/marquee in realtime(slow)" setting on Maximus without much improvement.

Any ideas on how to improve this? Are 1MB images too large, will making the file sizes smaller improve the speed? Should they be converted to something other than .png? Thanks for any input.

I got all mine from EMU movies, subscription is like $20 year. They have a program that downloads all the artwork into your folders. To answer your question mine are 28KB and they look fine. 1mb much to big. That seems like the easiest way to get the proper artwork (snaps, marquee,cp and etc.
