I've built an arcade cabinet quite a while ago but haven't used it much. However, I have the itch to play some light-gun games and when I last visited this forum there weren't too many available for the PC.
The PC has a CRT monitor and I'd like a dual light-gun setup to play the classic laser-disc games (Mad Dog McCree, etc).
Anybody have any suggestions?

The only option that works the way the original light guns did with a CRT is Act Labs USB VGA guns, but they aren't made anymore.
The infrared guns that are designed with LCD screens in mind will work on any type of monitor because they are getting their position based on the IR emitters. The type of screen is irrelevant. The upside to those is that they'll also work with the mounted gun games like Terminator 2. The downside is that they aren't as accurate as the old CRT guns and you have to look at the crosshairs onscreen instead of using the gun sights (IMO anyway).
If you do a search of this forum, you'll find plenty of info.

Just get a Wii with a Crossfire controller and be done with it. Positional/IR guns do not work well with arcade games. The releases on Wii have been tweaked (to varying degrees) to more centrally locate the targets where the controllers are most accurate.

Get a TOPGUN2. You will find it easy to configure and it plays well in cabs. ;)

I'll sell you my acts lab light gun (VGA).
It's the regular gun style, not that goofy space gun.

Which version do I need?
My TV is connected using component cables to my video card and not VGA...

For ACT Labs you need the tv version, it has a box that component or s-video jacks into. The VGA version won't work.
