Title: Bluetooth pairing question
Post by: mike boss on January 10, 2014, 08:19:40 am

I purchased a Bluetooth pairing so that I can send/receive audio.

The PC itself is not Bluetooth, so this handy little device allows me to send the audio to the receiver and any device connected to it.
When I test the pair with my iPhone, iPod Touch, and Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini I noticed that when I power OFF then ON the receiver it automatically pairs and  the audio is received. This is the effect I want !

The idea is that the PC will power on and go directly into Touch Jams. However when I do the testing on my main PC I noticed that I always have to go into the Bluetooth icon in my menu bar. Open up the settings and then go to the services tab. Then and only then will it make the connection.

Any help would be appreciated. I've included a picture of my Bluetooth pair.

I suppose it depends upon how the software is coded, but touch screens behave differently from a mouse.  Typically a touchscreen clicks when you press it, so it shouldn't be an issue.  Somebody more familiar with software at hand is going to have to chime in though.

I know there is a warning in "discovery mode" but I'm wondering if clicking that makes the difference ?

Still doing a little homework regarding the Bluetooth.
Hoping to find a solution soon !

Hoping to get the actual PC that I will use for this project tomorrow.
Hoping that when I do I'll get the behavior I'm hoping for.
I want to maintain the connection between the PC (non Bluetooth, but using a Bluetooth transmitter) and the receiver.

I finally got my hands on my 23" All-in-1 touch screen PC. LOVE IT (so far!)
I had some issues with the Bluetooth adapter. I didn't install correctly the first few times.
Finally after a power down/up it went online and pulled the drivers.
Seems to be working well now.

Despite the warning in the settings, I selected the option to make the PC discoverable. Seems to have done the trick, or it could be that Windows 7 is doing something different than my Windows Vista. But when I power on the PC (which will boot right to Touch Jams) , then turn on the receiver I see a lil pop up that says "connection made." (or something to that effect!) . When I turn the adapter on/off it takes a minute or so, but the PC realizes the connection is lost. When I power the adapter back up the connection is made.
THAT IS PERFECT ! - that is what I want to happen.

So now I just need to do a lil more testing, a few more reboots. Just to make sure that the PC can go from off to on, stay muted, and find the receiver when I turn it on. I need this to happen w/o me having to go into the settings.

Now when I turn on the PC it says the device didn't start properly.
I'll need to mess around with this more.

Did an uninstall and re-install of the drivers, however the Bluetooth is giving me issues.
I tested the receiver via my Samsung phone and Vista PC - it was fine.
So despite the transmitter saying it works with Windows 7...I dont think it does.
I'll play around more, but I think I'm better to simply wait the two weeks for the others to come in.

I still have tons to do on the PC anyway. So I can move onto installing Simple Touch FE and various touch friendly games/software.
