Title: minipac affected by the cold?
Post by: AwesomeAlbert on January 01, 2014, 09:27:13 pm
I have a  mini pac in my arcade that I'm trying to get running. it was running well for a couple of weeks. One day it just stopped working.  I changed cables, installed and uninstalled drivers, changed computers.  I have come to the conclusion that is is being affected by the cold. my cabinet is in the garage (its like 45 degrees in there) . The control panel works indoors all the time, as soon I take it outside it stops working like in 10 minutes.  I bring it inside, it doesn't work and in 5-10 minutes it starts working again.  Is this possible or this thing is messing with me???

what is the testing procedure for this thing??
thanks

Forum member qrz affectionately calls it "technician in a can" aka freeze spray.

Usually, a temperature dependency in a simple electronic device like that would be due to a cracked solder joint but it may also be humidity, not temperature, related.
