Title: LCD Monitor Auto-On Question
Post by: wp34 on December 26, 2013, 05:16:15 pm
I bought one of those Viewsonic VP191s monitors that TKW4rr10r was selling.  It was very easy to de-case but now I'm wondering how I make sure the monitor comes on after the power has been off for a while.  It seems to come back on after I've turned it off but I assume that if it is off for an extended period of time it will not.  I've attached a picture of the switch-panel.  Anyone have experience with this type of monitor or switch?

99% of monitors retain their settings even if powered off for extended periods of time. this means they will power back on if power is cut (if they were on to begin with).

best solution, turn it on and plug it into power that is powered all the time... even when the switch is off...when signal is lost, the monitor will shut off to standby after a few seconds. When you power on the system, boop! the monitor comes back on.

no need to worry about having it not come on when it needs to.

That is the behavior I'm expecting.  This project is for a friend and I have to deliver it this weekend and I think I'm panicking a little.   ;D  Just trying to cover all the bases.

Thanks lilshawn.
