You could pay for an Emumovies membership for only $5/month and just download what you need. That way you'd be getting what you need while supporting the community that is providing those vids for you.

You can use the FTP to download them all at once, or use the hyper sync app to connect to emu movies and download only the movies you need all in one shot.

If you subscribe just be sure you turn off the auto renewal feature or you will continue to incur charges. The auto renewal is turned off via paypal, not the site itself. Just an FYI as I ran into this when I signed up for a year. The site isn't exactly clear on this and I will say they were good about the refund when I found the renewal charge on my credit card.

i feel as though paying for illegal content is wrong. If it's free, that's one thing but I'm not going to allow someone to profit off of it. emumovies does not own the rights to those clips, they are selling them, regardless of how they present it. someone pm me please :)

Also, you are not paying for the videos. You are not paying for access to the FTP. You are not "buying" anything.
You are making a donation to the site to support the upkeep of the site. The FTP access is a "perk". Same goes for Hyperspin's FTP. And can be revoked at anytime. Its all about how you word things.

fursphere - access to the ftp is paid content. that's like saying you aren't paying to watch the movies on netflix, you're paying for the delivery system only so they don't need licensing... that's a cop out way around it. If i donate $50 to a drug dealer and he gives me some weed, in court it's still a valid purchase, same rule applies, there's precedent. The donation and gift model of things doesn't fly legally.

Except that the content is provided FOR FREE on their site, you just don't like the way they are providing it to you. Whether you acknowledge it or not, those preview videos did not capture/edit/compress themselves and the bandwidth to distribute them doesn't appear out of thin air. They are obviously providing a valuable service for us hobbyists, as illustrated by the fact that you're here begging for what they've created.

How many more times do you need to ask for someone to PM you with info on how to obtain these preview videos before it's considered begging? I count 3 on this thread so far.

Yep makes sense that they would charge the $20 for the first month to cut down on the number of people that just sign up and download everything in the 1 month using a bunch of the bandwidth and then disappearing vs. those that continue for several months during which there is very little download bandwidth used after the first month since they already have what they needed.

First and foremost, I don't believe any of the content is illegal.
That aside, illegal is illegal....paid or free. So your argument is pretty much invalid if you are taking the moral high ground.
Second, what do you think the costs are with maintaining the site? I can tell you that it isn't free. Not saying that there isn't money being made but you are paying for a service and there is overhead associated with providing that service.
Last, time is money. So knock yourself out trying to download free videos versus having a simple download utility that will look at all of your roms and simply download all of the necessary items.

For me getting the account wasn't necessarily about getting FTP access it was about the movies themselves--I don't have the skill or time to open every single game, record a snippit, and move on (I know there are progs that do this but I don't have those type of skills)...so that's what I was paying for. The fact that I could get them via FTP was icing on the cake
