Title: GroovyMame freezes when I configure inputs
Post by: malted on December 22, 2013, 01:49:07 pm
 Hi all,

My arcade hadn't been working for some time as the key mappings somehow got incorrect.  I went into groovymame and it would always lock the pc when i went into configure general inputs.  Since my build was a year old I decided to do a fresh install.  Got all the latest and greatest for hyperspin, hyperlaunch, and groovymame.  Again, the default mappings from my northcoast quad controller are a little different than the standard so I went into groovymame again, and darn it -- same issue.

I've got an AMD-based machine running XP with the catalyst drivers and a Makvision 2929 CRT.  I took a log if that helps.  I renamed the executable to mame.exe.

Help anyone?

Hi malted,

Have you tried this with normal MAME? Does it lock the pc too when going into configure general inputs?

Thanks Calamity -- good question.

I tried with normal MAME and it has the same problem.  It froze even quicker.  Not sure what to try now other than searching how to troubleshoot a freezing pc or doing diagnostics.  Its weird how it freezes after a certain time period.  I've got about 20 seconds to get in, change something, and exit which might be viable.  It seems to stay running ok with a game.  Anyways, I've attached another log if that helps.
