Title: Best way to transfer files/settings to different machine
Post by: boardjunkie on December 14, 2013, 11:59:05 am
Ok, I've had a better PC lay'n around for a while and I finally have some time to install it into my cab. Everything works fine with the existing one. What's the best way to transfer everything over without disturbing anything? Will it work just by shoving it all over to the new drive with it all in an installed state or do I need to redo it all? Lookin' for quick and dirty here...

Also, has the sound issue with certain vertical games been fixed (with a given res mode)? IE, some games (Donkey Kong for one) play the sounds flat in pitch about a step and it kinda bugs me).

Hi boardjunkie,

Some stuff will work by just copying it, most programs won't as they need to be installed. Regarding modelines, these can be saved/restored using Winmodelines.

The sound issue you mention is not such. You can't run most vertical games v-synced and still run at 100% speed, it's the whole game running slower not only the sound. Enable triplebuffer & multithreading for those games and v-sync will be disabled.
