Title: Calamity drivers and Win7
Post by: Monkee on December 12, 2013, 02:22:37 pm
Hi, I just bought some new parts to renew my computer and give some juice to my emulators and I realized that my new motherboard is not supporting Windows XP (at least no drivers)!

So I'm wondering if you can tell me whereas Windows 7 will be as good as Xp for the modelines on the short/middle term or if I should send this motherboard back? (and maybe an estimated date for the release of crt_emudriver for Win7?  ;D)

Thanks a lot.

I'm in the same position as you are (I bought an i5-4670k Haswell (LGA 1150 socket)). From what I understand, you can run Windows XP 64-bit on them (check out http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=135517.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=135517.0))

Note that I wasn't able to try for myself yet since I just ordered the new components.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not Groovymame that will be an issue, it's Windows 7 support for 15Khz drivers. Calamity is working on Win7 CRT emudrivers. God bless Calamity :-)
