Title: windows xp-spack 3 update
Post by: trendy21 on December 11, 2013, 03:55:10 pm
hello im using game ex for my front end and having real trouble with video(DirectX) and have updated my nvidia drivers and others from motherboard website. when in gamex if i boot up let it run through the screensavers and dont touch it it works fine, as soon as i start selecting in the menu for games or emulators it freezes or goes to error log and gives report of 21 consecutive errors out of memory and several other video or direct draw and resolution explanations. i was wondering if updating my windows xp to service pack 3 would help or if the security uploads would mess it up more. mame runs flawless my resolution is set at 1024x768 32bit on windows and in game ex i think the x and y are set at 640x480, any suggestions on if it points to windows or gameex and not enough on the video card (nvidia6150 seforce30 i think), 1 gig ram, xp, amd processor unknown it says, and biostar mcp6p m2+ v6.1 motherboard, thanks i see this all the time in gameex forum and never seems to get resolved or i may have missed other solutions.

I am running game ex on xp sp3 (clean install) with no issues.  I don't think it will hurt anything to try.  For $10 you can also probably get a different video card and give that a try.
