A friend of mine is getting his kids a 360 for xmas. What with the glut of 2nd hand games he was wondering what games he should definitely get them.
So what games would you recommend for a pair of boys 8 yrs & 10 yrs old.
-
Rayman legends. Amazing game.
-
Racing games are fun and good old Halo 3.
-
Kameo was a lot of fun. It's age appropriate and has a co-op mode as well.
Also ANY of the LEGO games. Lego Harry Potter, Batman, etc...
-
Minecraft.

So far it hasn't mattered what games I buy them my kids always want to play LEGO Indiana Jones...it is also nice that I can play with them too in co-op drop in drop out...

Thanks for some starters I'll go with all the lego games, katamari, kameo, Rayman (My wife recommended this as well). Didn't really think about racing games, Some need for speed & burnout should go down well. Jeez only about another 25 games or so. I figure if they have a different game for every day of the month they should be good.
It'll probably be a good idea if I pick up a Kinect for them, I have all the games for that already :laugh2:

Yeah, Burnout Paradise, Pure, and NFS: Most Wanted (2012) would all be great games (but 2 player split screen racing is rarer these days, so I might recommend Blur above all those). My nephew (12) is getting a 360 this Christmas so I have been thinking through this as well. A lot of fun to be had with the mentioned Rayman games (there are two, Origins and Legends I think), Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, etc. But for my nephew, #1 on his list was Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, even though he already owns it on PC.

That new Rayman game was supposed to be on sale on cyber Monday but I couldn't find the link again on Monday.
Last year forza horizons went on sale over turkey day and again around Xmas. Hoping for a repeat event with Rayman. Btw forza:horizons was lame
Trials hd was fun. So was lumines and the portal games.
Sent from the back of the bus

Dead or Alive Volleyball
+1 Send me a copy too. Hot girls bouncing their boobs playing a sport? I wish it were real life.

resident evil 4

Castle Crashers (XBox Live Arcade). Great co-op fun. And you can turn off the cartoony blood if you want :P Awesome game.
-
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was great, and perfect for 2 boys that age.
-
My kids really, and I mean REALLY, enjoyed Spider Man: Friend or Foe. It was a co-op, beat em up kind of game. Player one was always Spider Man, but as you beat more level bosses, you unlocked that boss as a playable character for player two. Weird concept, but fun game.

Lego Marvel Super Heros is great. There is a free world to play and they can unlock a ton of characters. My son is 4 and wont quit playing
-
My kids ask me to hook my 360 up to my TV (usually setup for shmups on my tate cabe) for Minecraft and Lego Marvel Super Heros. They love the other lego games on the wii which will be nicer on the 360. I'm going to pick up another 360 soon so I'll be looking at this thread for suggestions.

Nice list, that should keep them busy for the weekend. :applaud:
-
Minecraft my 3 year old loves it. He wanted me to play one day and I didn't feel like it. So i showed him what to do now he spends hours on it.
-
Personally when I was that age the biggest games that were out were Halo which had just come out and I remember playing a Need for Speed Game. Nothing like waking up in the morning early with some of your siblings or friends and killing some aliens or using some NOS on your new R34!
Good Day!

Bah! Don't even bother with a kinect, unless you fancy a go on total fit mel b lol. No seriously though, you play kinect for like 5 minutes tops and then realise you just want to sit down and play. I'd recommend sonic all stars racing, it's very mario kart and if you get the transformed version it includes wreck-it ralph and some of the banjo kazooee characters

dead space :burgerking:

I have to agree, Kinect is fun for just a bit, however these are young boys we are talking about, they might like to be active like that more than you and I. Just a thought to consider!

I would say Bionic Commando: Rearmed but then I remembered the final boss fight

With all the hatred against the Kinect, both my kids 7 and 5 like Kinectimals. Biggest problem was last year when my youngest was too small to actually be properly sensed by the Kinect. Another annoying facet is that you need to speak clearly and slowly, something some 5 and 7 year olds don't do. You would think the Kinect speech would be dynamic and understand even small speak like the computer in Enders Game, but whatever.
That said, Minecraft tops their play list, followed closely by, of all things, CoD: Black Ops. I have to lock that one away in the safe now. The Worms collection is a new addition that the young'uns like.
Castle Crashers is a must have. But I have it on the PS3.

I think It's interesting collect all games of the list in the first post.
Thanks
