Title: Coin mech ...help please
Post by: Thestoney on December 10, 2013, 04:41:08 pm
Hi all hope someone can steer me in the right direction , putting together an xbox cabinet and have hit a blank on the coin mech ........ It appears from reading previous posts I am not alone with this ( trying to make myself feel better !!!)
My problem is getting power to the unit , I'm not liking the idea of opening the xbox up again as I nearly spent the last weekend looking like the scientist in back to the future ..... Not a good look .
The unit needs 12v and has 100ma cont and 600ma peak (doesn't mean much to me ) , I'm thinking of hard wireing it to a multi charger .
This might seem silly to some but trust me I know no better , would this work ? Two connections to the power and two piggy backing the add coin button on control panel .
The unit is a coin controls c220 with a seperate coin calculator ?........ As they say you don't know what you don't know and I am now officially lost !!!
Thanks
Darren

+12v and ground will get it going
about 1 amp
then tie the ground to your xbox ground
then the singal  >output< from the unit to the coin input part for the xbox

Thanks for the quick reply so the dedicated charger will work ........ Splice and connect both wires ( using a block ) this then leaves me two wires one can piggy back on the ground on the coin button on control panel and the other onto the same switch ( on back of other cable ) .
This seems to make sense in my mind but hey that doesn't say much with my past history ! I will try this fingers crossed
And thanks again
