For anybody that has already hooked up the ipac:
I am nearing completion of my cabinet and have been trying to decided on the number of dedicated menu buttons to use. Backtrack a little:....As far as I can tell, I will not need the connection to switch 7 and 8 on both player 1 and 2 on the ipac. What are they used for,,,What games need them? These four inputs on the ipac, can they be used for the menu buttons? I was thinking of having at least pause and enter as non-shifted? I will be drilling the final holes for the panel tonight and need to decide by the end of the day, so any comments on this would be of help. I have a two player set up with six buttons each, a dedicated 4 way stick, trackball and spinner, 3 buttons used for combination of trackball, spinner and 4way, 2 start buttons and 2 coin buttons and finally a flight stick.
thanks

I went with pause, escape and tab as menu buttons and have no regrets--The pause feature is very poular with the people that play so they can get a beer, stretch their tired old asses etc. The tab can be shifted to the enter key.

I only have ESCAPE and PAUSE.
I think its all you need. But I'm useing MameWah and it intergrates its self with your controls.

I only have coin up and P1 & P2 start.

I only have coin up and P1 & P2 start.
In most front ends no other dedicated buttons are "required" just optional if you want them.

P1 and P2 start, pause, escape, and a power button (not connected to ipac).
