i recently upgraded from mame 124 to 150, and also made the jump to 64bit. i have a 4 player panel, but i connected two usb gamepads for some 6 player xmen action. however when i launch the game, once i get to the character screen, there are graphics glitches, i can't see any of the characters to select..and if i do it blind and just hit start, the background loads, but all of the xmen and enemies are invisible. the 4 player version works fine.
is there something i can do to fix this, or is it just an issue with this version of mame?

I loaded both Xmen 6P ver in 150, the ECB & the UCB. I had the same thing. Only the background was showing. So it was a problem in 150.
Now the good news :) I just tried both 6P versions in 151, both of them work fine. So it is fixed in 151.

I just gave it a shot in my version of MAME (.151) and it worked fine (both 6 player versions ECB and UCB). I had MAME .150 up until a couple of weeks ago and the main reason I went to MAME .151 is because they fixed the Area 51 issues (which got broken in .150).

right, it was a bug in 0.150 caused by some code modernizations, fixed in 0.151

that sucks. i hate to go through that entire rom update process again just for one game that i'll probably never play anyway.

The update from 150 to 151 is not a big one, so it wont be bad to do.
The rom update is 24.031 MB, which contains 158 files.
The CHD update is only 527.924 MB.
scan em & done.
