Title: SimpleTouch FE 'Class not registered"
Post by: swindmiller on December 03, 2013, 02:05:01 pm
I am getting "Class not registered" when I open this program on a newly imaged machine. I have it running fine on 2 other Win7 computers.
I did  fresh install of Win7 and did all of the Windows updates and after I install SimpleTouch FE and run it I get the message asking if I want to create the config file, after I choose yes I get the error. After the error the Config screen comes up but there are no Config Sets.
I assume I just don't have something installed but don't know what it is.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Scott

I am also having this exact same issue, I have tried 3 different versions of windows trying to solve it but still nothing!

I'm glad I'm not the only one as I was really starting to pull my hair out!

Scott as a quick fix I have found that version 1.12 works without this error but I would still like to find the root cause of 1.15 not working.

If anyone can help please end our misery!

Scott if you find the solution please post it here to help me out and I will do the same.

Cheers, Kev

I did get it working but dont know how. I got to the point that I just tried installing different things I had on the other working computers until it worked, I did narrow it down though. I installed Adobe Flash, Shockwave and MSXML so it was one or a combo of those. It also could have just been something that was installed with one of those.

Let me know if you find out which one it was.

Hope this helps!

Well after reading your post I set about getting it going, I already had flash so installed shockwave - nothing, then msxml - nothing.  I had a quick root about on the pc where it's working and noticed adobe activx - installed that and hey presto!

Thanks for your help Scott

Hope this comes in useful to others at some point!
