I've come to the conclusion that I need a Warhammer 40k themed cabinet. I'm now seeking opinions on the following for a marquee and cp.

CP is ok, not liking the font on the marquee. Good start.

Font is closest I could find to the one Games Workshop uses. I know the color sucks but I can't think of one that would work well. I should blend/blur the text a bit as well.
I was originally thinking of having the Golden Throne front and center on the CP but couldn't find an image I liked well enough...

All kidding aside, I agree with yotsuya on the font, and maybe on the whole direction of the marquee. Considering how symetrical your CP is, maybe use the Ultramarine chest plate insignia as the backdrop for the marquee and steal the Warhammer font for "For the Emperor", layed across the top, centred.

Oooooh this gives me ideas but my computer is not in reach. The font on the marquee is bothering me as well. Doesn't blend well. I have an idea that I will revisit in the morning.

Had some spare time today and bored as can be (can't work on the CNC right now, not a spec of heat in that garage, so it looks like I will be spending my winter creating DFX files for cutting in the spring and playing around in Inkscape), so I thru together a CP just to give you some more ideas. It was more for fun than anything, take from it what you will.

The photo realistic stuff can look a little out of place sometimes...black and white version...

My idea was basically Typefighters. Big Aquila with the FOR THE EMPEROR across it.
I did some digging and that font is the same font from the books. Looks better in all caps though. I searched for the 40K logo but it looks like its a modified font. I could spend some time duplicating it if you would like but it wouldn't be an overnight thing.

I have that offset 3 over 3 layout and if I did it again I would do non offset 3 over 3. not a big deal but not offset is easier to work with if you actually use the top row, esp if you have any interest at all in fighters.

Goofed around a bit tonight. Was nice to get the design juices flowing again.

Ooh. The wife and kid like the combo of Typefighter01's first CP and Monkeyvoodoo's marquee. The dark grays go well together. :cheers:

I'm not big on non-arcade themes, but I agree with your assessment, SB. Those look nice! Good job on the CP and marquee, Typefighter01 and Monkeyvoodoo. :cheers:

Was just thinking that this is a theme that cries out for guns. Of course they have to be bolt guns.
And now I'm thinking a total cabinet theme...

Except for the tats, that gut holding the Bolt Gun looks like me LOL.

Hey Slippy, do you want labels under each button, or are you getting vinyl stick on icons to put on top? If you want labels, let me know what each button is suppose to do and I will plop them in.
