hi everyone :)
so i'm in the middle of my costume art for my control panel it will be aprox (75cm X 27cm) i think it's about ok...
i had allot of trouble doing it with anime style and that it would fit the rest of my machine.
first of all i did my layout (pretty basic ? nice ?)
i wanted to do something abstract so from there i took it to the superman batman abstract drawings.. and kinda combined them so they will be in the same design style..
what do you think about it ? came out nice ?
how can i improve it (i thought if anyone will have ideas it's you guys) ?
or you think i should start something from sktrach that's better ?
*i'm attaching the 2 images
thanx guys !!!

:applaud: :applaud: Looks great.
The only thing you might want to change is that the 1st player Joystick hole ends up near Batman's crotch.
Just saying ;)

I like it! :applaud:

Looks good man.

1st player Joystick hole ends up near Batman's crotch.
Yup you don't want it looking like Batman is packing an extra tool in the utility belt if you catch our drift. Maybe just flip the images?

LOL !!!!!
maybe i'll do that ! :)
you think it's enough ? don't change anything ?

Agreed about the joystick dong. :)
I would also add a bit of colour to batman, perhaps using some of the darker blue as a mid-tone for batman's shading. This might help sell the "sheen" of batman's suit. It just seems that Batman is so monochromatic, compared to Supe.
Also, I'm not too keen on Supe's blank face...where as Batman's has some slight definition.
If you squint (classic painter's litmus test) while looking at the image, this will give you a good sense of the space composition...defining the negative/positive space usage. Currently, you've got Batman "anchored" to the left frame of the CP, and this empty stark-white space near the middle. Perhaps moving Batman closer to the center and putting more "flair" upwards to embellish the cape could help with balancing out the negative/positive spacing.
It's a cool concept, keep going!
-
I like the styling but I don't like the way one side of the CP is black and white while the other is color. However if that is a deliberate move that continues to be replicated on the sides of the cab then I think that could actually work well, it all comes down to execution.
and yes, watch out for that stick placement there buddy...

I would move the sticks and buttons up to have more room to rest your hand palms while playing. And maybe move to admin buttons to the top and place the texts below.
-
I might make sure you like the buttons beneath the trackball. At least the way I play games like Golden Tee, I'd be accidentally hitting those buttons alot.
-
And probably my hand into the spinner.

No, you're misinterpreting what I was saying. I wasn't suggesting to make it not abstract anymore. I'm saying you have an off-balanced image, in the style and the composition.
1. One side is colour, one side is monochromatic.
2. One side has more definition in the details (face), the other is more simplistic.
3. Batman is anchored to the side, while Superman isn't. This makes the image look even more like it's weighted to one side, with the combination of #1 - 2.
Making art look professional isn't about adding more more more graphics, it's about communicating a style that is cohesive and consistent with the theme. Staying within those "rules" you created for yourself, and your vision.

Like it or leave it, it's up to you. But if I were doing that art, the above comments is what I'd fix to get closer to a professional job.

so i got all of your wonderful advices !!!
and in the end worked something like 15 hours on this one ...
but i'm really !! happy with it, much happier then the older version ;)
what do you think guys ?
-
Looks much better. I play a lot of trackball games and am pretty certain the button placement around the trackball and the spinner are going to cause you some issues.

15 hours ain't nothing though. ;)

thought about putting them above the trackball, the thing is they don't really fit there and they will interfere with the spinner...
what buttons you mean around the spinner ?
do you have a picture of your layout ?
-
I believe he was stating that the buttons AND the spinner will interfere with your trackball useage. Which he is right, the spinner should be offset and you could probably have another set of buttons pull double duty as the two mouse buttons.
I do like the art though. Will look cool once applied.
-
The latest rev looks great.
I agree on the buttons below the trackball. They may interfere. The spinner may or may not interfere with the trackball though. It kinda depends how you play.
When it comes to trackball buttons, I personally prefer to just use the player 1 & 2 buttons rather than have dedicated trackball buttons. I find it easier and it makes for a cleaner panel.

Ok so just finished doing my side arts,
i did two versions
i personally think the one one the right looks allot better..
the only problem is now..
that this design doesn't compliment my cp design and all
and i'm a bit on a problem on what to do now..
-
First off, like the new CP design better.
But you're right, the sides don't mesh with the CP. I'd like to see the CP style followed all the way around on this one. Good luck.

ROFLMAO! Oh, oh lord, I do believe I just crapped my pants! Oh man, that is so funny...

sad part is, the Captain America art is 100% legit.
