Title: Mala loses focus at startup on windows 7
Post by: severdhed on November 06, 2013, 11:39:55 pm
i'm running mala in windows 7 x64. mala is in the startup folder, but once it launches, the start menu is partially visible on top of mala, and i have to click on mala to get it to work.  is there any easy way to resolve this?

With Hyperspin - the trick is normally to disable all the desktop enhancement stuff.

Pretty sure badmouth fixed a similar issue. Check mala forum.

Something is launching after Mala and taking focus away.

run msconfig and disable all startup items you don't need.

(I also ran services.msc and changeed anything set to "delayed start" to plain automatic, but in retrospect I don't think it was necessary)

I narrowed mine down to the xonar sound card software which I wanted running for the EQ.
There was no way to make it start any faster.

The solution was to place a shortcut to Mala in the startup folder rather than checking the box to have it start with windows.
That delayed Mala enough that the other program didn't take focus away.

Awesome, I'll check that this evening hopefully. I do have it as a shortcut in the startup folder, along with an autohotkey script..I'll look through the ms config
