I'm looking to buy one from Ebay, but I don't know anyone who owns one.

Take a look at the bandwith. I like real used scopes that go at least 10 to 20 Mhz. You have to have a scope fast enough to catch the signals you want to trace. If you are going for audio only or keypresses a 1 Mhz pocket scope is probably ok but if you want digital signals on a circuit board you will probably have to go highter.

i sugest u look at sparkfun www.sparkfun.com (http://www.sparkfun.com)
they have a 100meg pocket scope with 8 data line's input >aux or at the same time<
if u are like me u have a lappie..u take with u ?
if so there a perfect fit..289.00 usd..is not bad..
