Hello all,
I have decided to build an arcade from scratch, based (as closely as possible) on Blanka's Retro Space. I will be recreating this right down to the aluminum control panel and adding a few tricks of my own. I plan on doing some retro gaming, but envision this being used mostly for fighting games and emulators. Please let me know what you think of my parts list.
Computer: AMD Llano A8-3850 (already have)
Monitor: LG 27" IPS Passive 3d (D2743P-BN)
Buttons: IL Pushbuttons w/ 50g microswitch, possibly upgrade to Rollie Leaf Switches
Trackball: Happ 3" w/ upgraded bearings and high resolution wheels
Joystick: ServoStiks from Ultimarc
Control Interface: Mini-Pac
I am also curious of your suggestions with the Trackball. Going off of Blanka's cab the ring around the trackball is not exposed. I am curious if anyone would suggest I get a high ball because I am going to put the ring under the aluminum panel?

I prefer Japanese sticks and buttons. I think they're especially important for serious fighting game sessions.
Anyhow, that is preference. Input lag is not. That monitor isn't listed on displaylag.com. Do you if anyone has lag tested it? If not, it is likely to be laggy and very poor for gaming. (Remember low response rate does not mean low input lag).
You should get something low-lag listed here:
