Title: Canadian laminate options?
Post by: Monkeyvoodoo on October 30, 2013, 03:08:59 pm
Not sure if general is the right forum or if this should be in woodworking...

I'm looking for an inexpensive source for laminate. I've looked in Rona and Home Depot and they either are asking 120 a sheet or only offer what's on the shelves respectively. I found a local distributor at about 100 a sheet but needed 5 sheets that's getting a bit pricey.

I was wondering if you other Canuck builders have found better/cheaper sources?

There's a vinyl woodgrain distributor in China that John from John's Arcade uses that's cheap. I can find the info if you want it?

I dunno if "cheap" and "laminate" go in the same category... but up-island (as in where I live) there is a place called Roko E Distributers that has extensive selection of laminates. http://www.eroko.com/ (http://www.eroko.com/)

I would agree. Laminate is not particularly cheap. The prices you got previously are pretty standard.

E. roko is a good place to get it if you're going to go ahead with it. Coincidentally, i work for their sister company, colonial countertops but i'm in Kelowna.

Ohhhhhh, reaaaaaaaly..... My local source is the Victoria store. I know laminate isn't the cheapest product. I just want to save what I can.

I'll check out eroko Eds, maybe I'll end up island again.

Maybe I can deliver? We got married down at Hatley Castle and try to make it down for a stroll through the gardens every few months but haven't been down in a while.

There's an E. Roko in Victoria. It's on Alpha Street near a big mall (no idea what the name of the mall is)
