Title: BYOAC Racing Competition #7- Sega Rally Championship - Forest
Post by: BadMouth on October 25, 2013, 12:14:09 pm
BRINGING THE COMPETITIONS BACK!
WE'LL TRY RUNNING THEM FOR A FULL MONTH SO PEOPLE HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF FINDING TIME TO PLAY.

Competition Rules:

- Use any car or transmission option available in the game.

- Fastest total time wins.  Winner picks the next game and track.

- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.

- A screenshot or photo of your time displayed on the game screen is required to
enter.  Video is great and would help others learn, but it isn't required.

- Everyone is encouraged to post their times even if faster times have already
been submitted.  It's fun to compete with people of the same skill level even if a
master of driving has already submitted an untouchable time.

- Please make sure your times are from games that take place during the
competition period (no posting your best time from last year, etc.).

- Use of scripts or other non-standard hacks are not allowed.
No program or other person or entity of any sort may manipulate your
controls during your game.  Coaching & back-seat driving is fine as long as the
party doesn't directly influence the game or controls.

- If you can beat any of the times from the previous competitions, you can submit
your time in the LEADERBOARD thread stickied at the top of this forum.

- Have fun!

BYOAC Racing Competition #7 will be Sega Rally Championship - Forest (Practice Mode)
Competition ends at midnight Pacific Standard Time, Saturday November 30th.

emulator - SEGA Model 2 Emulator by ElSemi (either v.9 or v1.0)
rom - srallyc - Sega Rally Championship
settings - default with the exception of country=USA

Hi Badmouth, is it possible to use H2Seq.exe fot the shifter?

Yes.  Ok to use H2Seq in games where all it does is work the shifter.
Not ok on games that have a clutch(like Hard Drivin) and it is posting the clutch presses for you.

sent from my phone while driving

Only had time for one run last night.
Different wheel, different pedals, different shifter.
It threw everything off.
I kept hitting 5th and 6th on the G27 shifter instead of 3rd & 4th.
I didn't even finish.  :'(

I'm sure I'll adjust and find time to get a respectable run.

New photo, new score and my current setup...(I changed the 4 speed shifter with a simple joystick (to use as a sequential shifter with the H2Seq utility)

[...]I changed the 4 speed shifter with a simple joystick [...]

Nice choice: you can play with all model2 games in that cab now! However I must say that daytona loose some of its feeling without the original shifter ...

Looks like segarally is the winner with a time of 2'31"83
(someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I will update the thread title and leaderboard later today.

segarally picks the next track, unless everyone hates the track he picks.  ;D
