Title: Easy spinner mouse hack question...I think
Post by: unclet on November 20, 2003, 07:13:18 pm
When I hack a mouse PCB to make a spinner for use with Mame32, does it matter if I mount the encoder wheel between the Y-axis optics instead of the X-axis optics?  Or does Mame only allow for X-Axis mouse input for spinner game input.

Unless my knowledge is out of date, you MUST use the X axis for *regular* MAME to see your spinner...

MAME Analog+ can use either/both tho :)

That said, regular MAME may have changed since I last looked - can anyone confirm?

Mame still can't change mouse axis.

AdvanceMame is another variant that can change mouse axis, I believe, although it only does one mouse in windows. ;)

Thanks.....I will use the X-axis optics now.  Glad I asked, since I was leaning towards using the Y-axis...   :o
