I have an AMI Rowe WP100 Storm juke. The problem is that I have a lot of 'burnt' CD's in the unit as I don;t want any originals scratched. The CD's can be 17 or even 20 tracks long. All work ok. However, sometimes on a CD a track will 'jump'. I copy these at the lowest 7x burn rate. I have cleaned the lens on my CD Pro unit. I have cleaned the drop mechanism and the cd holder 'thinking that there may be a problem with the cd not being held correctly'.
Does anyone have any ideas on this ? The burnt track always fails at the same point. It is random on the CD's I have copied.
Most of my cd's are converted from mp3 to WAV although I copy directly from WAV on originals.
Thanks

Technically, the jukebox is not supposed to play burned CD's. It was designed to play commercially manufactured CD's.

Yes I understand that. A few originals do jump sometimes. I have had the CD unit out today and given everything a clean. Re-seated the unit and things seem to be going ok...fingers crossed!

Ken,
Is there a specific electrical contact cleaner that should be used to clean up contacts in the Jukebox ?
I think mine needs a good clean and I need to ensure that all contacts are good. Also do you recommend any specific cleaning agent for the carousel drive unit?
Thank you

Hello Ganners62,
My advice is not to use any type of spay cleaner, lubricantion etc.
Lubrication is only in required in a very small quantity and only on a few specific locations.

I had the same experience with the CD Pro and burned discs - they *mostly* worked. It seems as though that's simply how it is.

you are correct assuming a cdm 12 pro(which is common) in the wp100,i operate 10 of those machines
i find the 12 pros sensitive to the quality of the cds or cdr's used...
if u must use cdr's get good ones and burn them at a slow speed(less byte errors in burn)...
but if u r getting a skip issue on (real) cd's u may have a faulty player..
a good clean and lube may fix if the laser is good
rowe sells a lube kit for cdm 12 pro players(u may have to contact a distributor to get one though)
