Ok looking for some honest feedback. This is my first attempt at doing my own artwork. Not all of this is mine. RODMAN designed the control panel He is a great guy and I say Thank You. Mike Boss did the Mala layout and I highly recommend getting a hold of him if you need artwork or Mala layouts done. That pretty much leaves the side art, bezel and marquee creations of my doing. They have been edited, resized and designed for a bartop I'm getting started on.

The sides are over sized when completed this is what they should like.

Thanks for the plug! :applaud:

its a little disjointed due to using a mix of MK1 and MKII but that bezel looks swell.

I agree with you. I had to remove a few MKII badges from this art. I first tried to make the side art based on MKI, but it just didn't flow with the shape of the sides. Also I never did find a large enough image of a MKI side to work with. Thanks for the input. Funny, I was worried that it would come off mix-matched and that's the first comment I get.

I like this new trend I see on here where people are doing scaled down versions of cabinets.
I like a nice flow when it comes to artwork. So a mini scaled down MK1 with a CPO that was true to the original.
In this case, for this project I like the CPO a ton! and I think the marquee works.
EDIT _ I'd like to add : on the CPO which I think is super nice and clean if you could move the "Mortal Kombat" text with the Midway and the dragons. Take that off the CPO. I think that would be an awesome marqee.
Then perhaps the midway logo on the control panel part that appears to wrap down onto the front of the cabinet.
Perhaps adding the old school MK dragon circle logo to the sideart.
The bezel I like, yet at the same time find it a lil compicated.
-
replace the fade behind the control panel art with the "blue stone" from MKII, add some difference clouds behind the movelists and move reptile and subbie to the left and add an MK Dragon logo. I made a "Mortal Kabinet Marquee" based on MKII that you could use. I think theming it off of MKII (the superior of the side arts) would be the best bet.

Originally An MKI was the look I was after mainly because of how nice the CP looked. I just could not get the sides to flow right (I thought that they would because my cab profile is just a scaled down version of the Original upright, same angles, mostly changes to the legnth of things). So I tried to incorporate the MKII sides.

I like what you are saying about the CP I am gonna see if I can accomplish something like that tonight. Thanks for the offer on the marquee but I am really happy with the one I have. I'm gonna try to lean more to the MKII look but I don't want any of the II badges.

I give you props, Man. You always have the best cabinet names/themes.

I like this one

maybe make the blue part of the control area 10% transparent? just see through enough to see whats under there but not so transparent that you cant tell the controls are above it. Your cab, your choice, just tryin to help :)
Other thoughts:
Move the dragons and MK logo from the control panel top, to the control panel front, between the red blocks.
The Marquee is just too plain and too black. I think even resizing my old CP graphic as your marquee would work, even with no letters/words. Maybe just a big MK dragon of some sort.
Other than the possible cloud BG of the bezel, use Dark or light blues of the lists, it helps tie everything together.
I think the red of the MaLa layout is a fantastic contrast to the blue of everything else.

Thanks for the input. The black space between the Dragons on the face of the CP is where the "add a coin faux LED coin returns" and player 1 and player 2 start are going to reside. I like the bezel idea, I'll play with that this week end. I'm pretty set on the marquee but who knows?
I think I like this CP best so far.
-
Ahhh I didnt know the faux buttons were going there.
As for the CP, I liked the last one you did better, I just thought the blue part would be neat looking semi transparent. I think the reds a bit much there but Im just bouncin ideas , do what you like bro :)

n.p. mate - comunity and support - thats whats it is all about.
Glad i could push your project a bit! Its gonna be super! :afro:
When i worked on your cpo i thought you wanted to stick as close to the original MKI cabinet as possible. I still think rebuilding the design would people definately get speechless standing mouth open in front of the damn thing because everyone will remember it from the old arcade days, and this would add a nice portion of emotion :'( to the optical impression. (Everytime i take someone downstairs to show Žem my cinema and there is that lovely near mint MK Cab running they just go "UUUHHH" :notworthy: - like showing em an originally signed Tony Hawk Skateboard or something :laugh2:)
In case you are interested i should have a wip file of your cpo without the semi-transparent Midway-dragons part low center.
If you are just aiming to get a stunning looking MK Cabinet you are on the best way i think, and as stated above am really looin 4ward to cing the damn final thing (this time no typo...).
