Hello community!
Well, this is the first cabinet I've ever built, and it's been a lot of fun so far. I started this somewhere around 5 months ago or so but the progress has slowed since classes started again and I picked up a second job. Nonetheless, with my Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks coming up hopefully I'll have time to progress the beast! Anyways, this is using a 32" LCD for a display (mostly because my doorway is ~28 inches or so, I can't remember exactly). Anyways, lets get started with some pictures!
(I don't have the designs I did on graph paper scanned, but maybe I'll get around to it at some point...)
We started off by taping out an outline on the 3/4" melamine.

Here's both sides cut out side by side. There's a cleat in the top for the top board. There's also a cutout near the bottom to make the base that the computer will be on sturdier.

Here's the frame standing up with the base and top in there just to hold it all together.

This is a cutout for the back piece to fit into.

Added in a shelf in the middle for stability, I also used edge banding so the edge wouldn't be the ugly brown that the melamine has.

Here's the cut made for the T-Molding to fit into (went with the awesome Galaxian Green T-Molding :D), oh and my dad who has been helping me make the cabinet possible!

Added in a few more boards and got the TV test fitted.

Added in the side boards next to the TV, it's really snug but fits perfect. We also got the TV mounted on the inside of the cabinet so it can hold in that position.

We also got a swinging cabinet door installed on the bottom of the cabinet, but I don't have pictures at this time, I'll add some more later!
Tell me what you guys think, I'm open to all and any tips and/or criticism! :D

Thanks! It's my brothers 1972 Ford Comet, at the time of the pictures he was rebuilding the engine to prep it for drag racing next year. The Hoosier slick is also his as well haha.

very nice. I went the same route. Slim LCD, for the weight and space. Yours is looking good! :applaud:

Looks good. Did you angle the arms that hold the control panel box? :applaud:

How's that particle board core holding up, I see you have some really clean cut lines, any visible tear out?
Are you using a fine tooth blade in your saw?

Yeah I guess it's hard to tell in the pictures but yes it's angled to what felt like a comfortable level for me. :)

We used a 1/2" bit in a router to cut out the first side (having to make multiple passes by dropping the bit lower and lower which was a pain but worked well) and a fence to guide it. Then we just used a pattern tracing bit to follow the same shape on the second side and there were literally no (when I say none, I literally mean... none) chips at all, it came out extremely clean.
Thanks for the replies guys. :D I contacted someone about using their artwork (and hopefully I can modify it to fit my control panel and everything) so hopefully I can get that all taken care of soon so I can start on the control panel.

Looks really nice! I checked out both of your threads and it looks like they both turned out great! More inspiration for me to take my time and make sure mine end up looking good! :)
