Jakobud's efforts in the similarly named thread have been awesome and I have already used some of the plans to work out my cp height and angle. It got me thinking how it would be great to have a repository of origianl control panel layouts with dimensions, angles, and maybe some info on the hardware (joysticks, buttons, etc.)
Is there already a resource like this and if not, anyone interested in getting one going? I can host the plans etc.
On a related topic, I am looking for the Stargate, Defender, and Multiwilliams cp dimensions. If anyone knows where to find them please let me know.

Here are Defenders:

I would be really interested in cp dimensions!

This is exactly what I am talking about, thanks for the link!
I found these as well although they do not have the dimensions -

Hey, that site looks familiar ::)

Anyone have a Defender with the original control panel overlay? I'm looking for the thickness of the control panel with the overlay. I picked up a repro overlay that's hard plastic and don't know if it's the same thickness as the original one.

Along those same lines, can someone measure how high the red ball sits above the CP? I'm not sure how thick the original overlay and board is and I want to get the right hight on the duplicate I'm making.....

I have a converted Defender in my basement that still has the original panel (with a new overlay). Original Defender overlays weren't hard plastic, or at least I have never seen one that was (none of the ones at the last auction were, and the one under the Double Dragon overlay on my first Defender cab wasn't). They were normal overlays and thus had no real thickness.
So anyway, I can check the thickness of the wood, but I can comment on the height of the ball, because I don't have an original Defender joystick to check with.
Although if the height matters to you then just get a real Defender stick and make your control panel the right thickness and don't use plexi, and it will be the right height then.

I've got an original (actually 2) coming if the guy from Ebay ever gets them in the mail! So the board thickness would be good to know -- I'll just trim it down to account for the plexi that I'll use.
BTW, where are you in St Louis? I'm headed to O'Fallon, IL for Thanksgiving.

I am in Florissant near where 170 and 270 meet.

Here's the Williams Multigame cp, rounded to the nearest 1/16". The measurements were made after all the controls were installed and when I double-checked the dims, they came out to within .06" of my initial measurements, so they should work just fine with the www.phoenixarcade.com cp overlay. Click below for a larger gif. If anyone would like the AutoCAD file, just let me know.
Note that all control dimensions are located with respect to P1 Joystick and it's position on the control panel. I also located a cabinet center line so if your cabinet's interior width is something other than 23" or 25", you should be able to work out the proper dimesions to center the controls. P1 & P2 Start buttons ARE NOT supposed to be symmetric about the center line of the cabinet! The relationship of the P1 & P2 start buttons with the centerline of the cabinet is correct in the below sketch.
