Title: Backlight Paper - Marquee Paper Type
Post by: zanna5910 on October 11, 2013, 02:00:04 pm
I haven't really seen anyone mention this but:

When talking with a commercial printer I work with outside of the hobby to do my printing for my cab, I was discussing the marquee and what option would be best for it.  He recommended using backlight paper, as the colors will really pop when lit up from behind.  I can't say I disagree at all!  When not lit up, the print looks kinda muted, but once a light hits that paper, BOOM, the colors just sing.   I've had my cab done for about 2 years or so and it still looks just as good as it did then, there is no residual for time it seems.

Just wanted to let you guys know about this.  I will try to post some pics later.

That's awesome! I'd heard it called "lightbox vinyl," not sure if that's the same thing. Would love to see a pic! Here's a custom marquee I had printed for an NBA Jam I had years ago.

You sure like non-traditional marquees, don't you, P-Funk?
