Just wondering if something special is required on the chassis board for games like NFL Blitz/NBA Showtime to play on their Medium resolution setting or if a standard Arcade monitor can be used.
Is there some sort of mod/addition that is required or does it require an entirely different display that is specific to medium resolution games.
I am picking up a 25" CRT arcade monitor tomorrow (seller says it was pulled from a 4 slot Neo Geo, as far as he knows). I am hoping to use it in my Blitz/Showtime cab.
If not then I'll put it in my MVS cab (already been nicely converted to LCD). :-\
Thank you for any relative information, your time is appreciated.

you need a medium res monitor for a medium res game. NFL Blitz has a dip switch to make it display in standard resolution, so while the monitor wont display blitz in medium res, it will display it in standard res.

Yeah that's about what I figured, bummer. It's sad that the older arcade crt's are not capable of multiple resolutions (scan rates).
I am aware of the low/medium setting on Blitz/Showtime but it looks horrible on the low setting when compared to medium. :(
Thanks for the confirmation Malenko, much appreciated.

Well it turned out the monitor that I bought is actually a 27" so it does not bolt up. :banghead:
I got an RCA A68AEG25X 05 tube and a Neotec NT-29c chassis.
It's in fantastic shape and I would love to use it but not sure if there is a way to get it in the Midway cab..?
Are there different mounting adapters?
* I found the threads where people have modified the brackets to fit the 27's. :)
Thanks guys, much appreciated!!!
