Title: Atari Missle Command Optical boards
Post by: MinerAl on November 19, 2003, 10:33:03 am
Got some new optics for my giant atari trackballs.

I can probably figure it out myself without too much problem, but does anyone know off the top of his head which of the 4 pins is which?  (X1,X2,+5V,GND)

Thanks.

if so check this out

Or

I think they all sorta follow the same pinout...

hope this helps...

Also see if pin 1 is clearly marked on the pcb

This will help you determine what is what...

I still haven't tried too hard to trace the traces on these boards yet...

For what it's worth, Missle Command optic boards, which are markedly different in layout from the original Atari Football optic boards (4 little friendly pins instead of the 1" square molex 10 pin/socket monsters), fit the mounts and encoder wheels of my AF trackball perfectly.  I'm anxious to have some time this week to finally attach them to my Opti-PAC.

If these work as well as I think they will I will replace the originals that I have working on the player 1 trackball with these smaller optic boards, simply to make room in my cabinet for other controls!
