Title: AVGA MAME RES TOOL Help needed....
Post by: aeroflott on November 19, 2003, 09:50:51 am
I'm sure this is easy - but maybe I'm missing something!

I've downloaded the AVGA Mame Res Tool file from Mamewah Downloads page and its sitting on my hard drive. If I open it, I'm given 3 icons - setup, srtup.lst and avgamamerestool.cab. Clicking setup asks me for a disc. Clicking avgamamerestool.cab gives me several other icons. When I try to extract any of these I'm given error message "Not enough storage space to compete this operation".
Someone tell me what I am doing wrong!

I'm running XP Home version.

Cheers

T

setup(.exe) is the one to open - what 'disc' is it asking for??

Thats what I'd like to know!

I double click "Setup.exe" and a window pops up saying "Please insert disc" I click OK on this window, I then get "Cannot find file 'C:\Documents and settings\<myusernameonthisPC>\Local Settings\Temp\TemporaryDirectory 3 for avga_mame_res_tool.zip\AVGA MAME res Tool.CAB' Please insert disc.

Try extracting the 3 files to a temporary folder before running setup.exe.  From what you said it sounds like you are opening them from a Zip program (I know it should work with WinZip, but not sure about others...)

I think the XP "folder view of ZIP files" is also too brain dead to deal with it, although I thought it gave you a warning about possibly missing files if you execute an exe without first extracting.
