Title: Comission Job 24VDC pop driver
Post by: bimm25e on October 01, 2013, 01:07:56 pm
Hey All I need a circuit built for me that will run off of a 1.5VDC (i think thats the button current for a JAMMA rig right?) and "POP" a 24VDC solenoid.  I have a 24VDC power supply already and would need 2 of the circuits (preferably both circuits can use the 1 power supply as a power source.

This is for a Recoil Solenoid that i've put in a Namco gun - I couldnt find a stock NAMCO replacement solenoid so I got a diferent one but it is tested and working with the power supply i'll be using.

The goal would be to have the circuit recoil repetedly (like a machine gun) if the trigger is held down so in Area 51 when you get the machine gun upgrade holding the trigger will accurately recoil with the shots fired.

I dont want to affect the trigger operation, 1 pull = 1 pull

If thats too complicated I'm okay with a cicruit what simply holds the solenoid open while im holding the trigger.... I would prefer option A however.

Thanks,

can someone point me to a SSR that would accept a 1.5VDC "trigger" and support a 24VDC output current.

would this work?

So I'll paypal someone $5 to make me a shopping cart on jameco.com with all the pieces I'd need to build 4 of this circuit.

Assume all I have is a soldering iron, some solder, the solenoid, trigger switch, lightgun pcb
So I would need breadboards,  wire to use on the breadboard, 24V Power Supply, resisotrs, 555 timer...etc...

I get the idea of making one, I can follow the diagram, I think I could make one, but I certainly don't understand the difference between the 29 different 555 timers they have for sale.

I think the shopping list would be an awesome thing to add to that tutorial thread as well.  I'm finding I can build this stuff but finding the correct pieces is much more than half the battle for me
