I had some problems controlling Q-bert with my U360 stick. I used the 4-Way, Diagonals Only map which came with the installation of UltraMap. Q-Bert kept jumping off the maze. Studying the map and using the keyboard's arrow keys I finaly noticed why: Pushing the stick to the top right position should send an up-key but using the '4-Way, Diagonals Only' map it sends an Up AND a Right. So in facts it's an 8-way map controlling an 4-way game. Maybe if you use the analog mode of the stick the build in re-mapping of MAME fixes this but I use it the digital way (connecting the U360 Stick with the harnas to my iPAC2).

What you want to achieve is an 4-way 45 degrees rotated stick. I changed the map accordingly and now Q-Bert finally does what I want him to :applaud:

I think Andy should change the name of ' 4-Way, Diagonals Only' in the UltraMap installation. ::) It's very confusing and even wrong. Maybe he should add my map calling it something like '4-Way, Rotated 45 degrees Clockwise'.

I was experiencing the same problem, and this really helped... Thank You! He should just call it the Q-Bert Setting.

It is confusing, I went through a similar process a few years back. I fixed it by changing the inputs in mame to work with the original diagonals only map I think.

But than Q-Bert moves top-right when you move your stick up!?
