Hello, I am wondering is someone can help me with an issua I am having with my monitor.
I have successfully installed calamity's crt emudriver and have used the vmmaker monitor preset for the MS9-29 series monitor in the monitor presets thread.
Thius is the one im currently using.
monitor_specs0 15450.00-16050.00, 55-65, 3.91, 4.70, 6.85, 0.190, 0.191, 1.018, 0, 0, 288, 448
monitor_specs1 23900.00-24900.00, 55-65, 2.91, 3.00, 4.44, 0.451, 0.164, 1.048, 0, 0, 480, 768
I am using an ATI radeon HD 4850 graphics card connected to a jpac. When i restart my PC after setting up vmmaker, i get the 15/24hz resolutions displayed in arcade osd corrdctly. All the 15hz resolutions work fine but none of the 24hz signals work. I get a distored image and the "sync ok" light goes off on my jpac. I have tried both dip settings on the jpac, one on 15hz, one on 25hz, but nothing. I have also tried adjusting the h.hold 24 on the pcb of my chassis but cannot get the picture to display correctly. I know that my monitor supports 24hz and auto switches too. There is no dip switch on the pcb board as I have seperate controls for 15 and 24 hz. My monitor is a nanao ms9-29S.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it possible the vmmaker settings?
Some help or input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
paul

Attach both your VMMaker.ini and Mame.ini (rename to .txt to upload)
are you testing only in ArcadeOSD or Groovymame as well?

Hi Quaristice,
Please check on the Ultimarc's site, what's the correct jumper settings for a dual 15/25 KHz monitor. I'd say that the sync led turning off means the JPAC is filtering the 25 kHz frequency as undesired.
If the jumpers are fine, it could be the frequencies done by the this preset are too low (closer to 24 kHz than 25 kHz). Try recalculating the modes modifying this preset:
monitor_specs1 24900.00-25100.00, 55-65, 2.91, 3.00, 4.44, 0.451, 0.164, 1.048, 0, 0, 480, 768

Hi Sledge, Calamity,
Many thanks for getting back to me.
I feel like a complete idiot i double checked my chassis by getting closer inside the cabinet (its very tight in there lol) and found that I had a small dip switch i have to MANUALLY change to set the frequency to 24khz. I feel like an idiot as I thaught I had a autoscan chassis :-(
Many thanks for both trying to help.
I do however have a problem trying to get my screen centered on vmmaker and groovymame ini settings. I have been trying lots of different settings but I just cannot get the image to be centered. Ill post a new topic as this thread has been solved.
