Hey Guys,
I have never been a fan of spinners as there is only a few titles I would actually play, however I may have missed the boat, but I seen some spinners have a steering wheel attachment? I can only think of pole position game, what other games would support the attachment?
I have seen 6, 7" ones, do they make larger ones? is there a certain brand or website that is recommended? What are the good titles for spinner controls?
The other thing I was wondering about is trackballs. So many people use them however I do not seem to see any good games that use it? Any advise on that? what games are good?

A trackball opens up an incredible world of possibilities. There are lots of good trackball games and the trackball means that you can now use windows games and applications that needed a mouse to control them.
I am not a fan of the teeny steering wheels. If you want a driving cabinet then doing a separate cabinet is probably the best route. Dead drivers are often really cheap, so you could do the project up without spending much.

I used these guys' plans to build a BASIC, yet cost effective, racing setup.
Works great, but hogs some real estate in the basement.
The seat, along with the wheel, pedals, and shifter make up most of the cost.
They take their racing a little too seriously for my lifestyle, but they are absolutely awesome at what they do!
Regarding the spinner: Tron, And Forgotten Worlds are fun spinner games, but it is with Ivan Stewart's Off Road franchise where my spinner shines as a steering wheel (one player only of course). Arkanoid is the main reason why my spinner is in the dead center of my CP. I haven't yet figured out how to get a good 2600 emulator going but once I do, I really like to play some Kaboom!
Regarding the trackball: There is Missile Command, Crystal Castles, and some bowling variants. The golf games are also great and an uncountable number of Golden Tee's.

IIRC, RandyT mentioned that wheels larger than 7" may have too much leverage and may damage the spinner.
GGG (TT2) and Ultimarc (SpinTrak) both have spinners and wheels.
Spinner games to check out:
APB
Arkanoid
Cameltry
Hard Drivin'
Major Havoc
Off the Wall
Omega Race
OutRunners
Out Run
Pole Position
Puzz Loop/Puzz Loop 2
Super Breakout
Speed Racer
Super Sprint
Star Trek
Tempest/Tempest Tubes
Turbo Out Run
Warlords

It is worth having a trackball just for centipede and millipede.
The irritating maze is also a fun trackball game.

I would add Tac/Scan to the list of spinner games to try. Up there with Tempest in terms of addictive quality.

What problem are you having in getting a 2600 emulator working?

The videos in my signature might help you. I put short clips of most of the spinner and trackball games in action. The steering wheel spinner games are mixed in.

Spreadsheet from the driving cab info thread in the driving cab forum:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArE1chsgHXQodDd2ckdjLVY3Ujlad2tZWUpteDNtcXc&authkey=CIrIhMwE&hl=en&authkey=CIrIhMwE (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArE1chsgHXQodDd2ckdjLVY3Ujlad2tZWUpteDNtcXc&authkey=CIrIhMwE&hl=en&authkey=CIrIhMwE)
All the ones that say 360 under the wheel column used a wheel that spun all the way around.
The ones that say POT used a potentiometer and were usually limited to 270 degrees of travel.
The spinner will still work with them, but the wheel turning farther than it should can result in it not feeling right.
There are three sheets to that spreadsheet. Some of the imperfect ones play just fine or have been promoted to good status since the spreadsheet was last updated.
This alteration to MAME popped up recently which is supposed to improve it, but I haven't used it.

Nope, just the driving games.
There used to be an awesome website called MAWS that would let you search for games by criteria like that.
It had to be taken down because someone found a way to exploit it to mess with the servers of the company hosting it.
Word is, progetto emma is going to get similar features.
http://www.progettoemma.net/ (http://www.progettoemma.net/)
There is a way to make it appear in English, but my laptop battery is dying and I can't find it quickly.

Hey
Dude that site rocks! If you hit the little British flag it goes to mostly english! You can search games via all kinds of parameters! Thanks so much!

All the MAME light gun games are listed in the AIM-Trak manual which can be downloaded at ultimarc. If you search, there is a thread here in the main forum that lists all the arcade ones on other emulators.
