Hyperspin is annoying to set up.

That is all.

That's why I made a master setup with 40+ hours of tweaking and now I just copy and paste =p.  it's so annoying.

I'd buy you a 12 pack if you would cut and paste that ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- into a torrent for me.  I've got the emumovies account for the vids, gold member of HS etc.  Don't want/need roms but good xml's/dats would be nice.  starting from scratch is just sucktacular.

I thought it was fun figuring everything about hyperspin out. I would never do it again though  ;)  I just made a huge back up of everything to an external hard drive so I never have to deal with it again.

Yeah setting it up the first time sucks,  But once you are done its all good. I have spent the past week updating my system to the latest version of Hyperlaunch etc.  I found it was easier to just start from scratch.  Sure it took a while using Fatmatch to make sure everything was named properly But I got there.  If you really want me to I can dump a torrent up,  I have the following systems complete (Or as complete as I can get them). You would need to get the Emulators and roms yourself though.  My vids are all in 240p FLV and not 480 MP4's though.  It comes to about 6.5GB without roms/emulators. I just realised I haven't got round to doing mame yet  :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Nintendo Nes,Snes,Nintendo 64
Sega, Gamegear, Mastersystem, Genesis, Model 2
Neo Geo, Neo Geo Pocket
TurboGrafx 16

If you have Platinum at hyperspin and you have gold at emumovies just use Hypersync.  All you will need then is to create the base structure and let Hypersync do its thing in getting all the right vid's etc.  The only issue I can see you having is if your romset does not match what they are expecting.  You can go to the hyperapps/hyperlist page on the site and get the xmls & Dat files.

Anybody got daphne working with hyperlaunch 3?  it works outside of HS/command line or daphne loader.  I put the framefile files in the folder and used txt as the rom extension, etc.  everything is a new install of HS.

shouldn't be this hard to get a simple ficking prigram to feffing run.  Don't really feel like taking crap from some 15 yo on the hs forum right now.

Yes, I have managed to get Daphne working with the latest HS and HL3. Had it working with earlier versions, but had to do it via batch files as I could not get HL to work at all for whatever reason. It was actually a lot easier this time around with the new HL.

I would suggest making sure you do have the latest modules and software updates as I had issues with the first version of HL3.

Anyway, using Hyperlaunch HQ, I have the rompath pointed to the directory containing the actual framefiles (the txt file needs to be in this directory also. In my case, the directory, framefiles, and txt file are all named identical (eg. lair) for each game. My roms are all in a separate "Roms" directory with the rom name matching the the other game files mentioned previously. I don't even point HLHQ to the rom directories.

Hope this makes sense. Seems like I had issues that were due to the names of the directories not being the same as the framefiles and txt file, but not sure. Once I got everything in order, HS worked without any problems.

Will take a look. I thought the 2 line text files were the frame files.

Attached is a pic of my framefile directory for dragons lair that is referenced as the rompath in HLHQ (note: for whatever reason, they were not put in the framefiles folder, don't remember why though):

ok, here's the current status.  I changed the rompaths in hyperlaunchHQ to /vldp and /dl_vldp.  Now, if I test in hyperlaunch or hyperlaunch hq, all the games work.

However, when I go to HS, they don't run.  nothing happens. I go to the hyperlaunch log, and what it shows is the last log from a game tested directly in hyperlaunch, not what I tried to run through hyperspin.

In hyperhq:
use hyperlaunch is selected.

rompath is blank or to /vldp or to /vldp/astron and i tried to run astron.  also tried just using /daphne with search subfolders kept on.  none of these work

rom extension is txt

I tried basically everything blank as well - why do you need this to be entered here if hyperlaunch is launching?

when I run this the HS log shows that hyperlaunch was started, however when you go to the HL log, it shows the last run that was successful in direct HL.exe testing, nothing new.

Don't use HyperHQ for anything except to create the new database for HS, you do everything in Hyperlaunch HQ, this is where you put the rompath. If Hyperspin is not seeing it, is the game in the database Daphne.XML file correctly? Sounds like something is missing in Hyperspin if it runs from Hyperlaunch.

I don't know exactly what I did but I got it working.  I took a break and set up a couple of other emulators and came back.

Glad you got it going. If you can get Daphne working, everything else should be fairly easy now. HS does have a bit of a learning curve to get started.

everything's working well except Demul.  works fine outside of HS - something to do with setting up the controls ini's is not well explained, to deal with running naomi/atomiswave/gaelco.  I know I've got more steps to work on, but if anybody just did demul and Hyperlaunch 3 and want's to share, Im open!

I dont even know what version Im running anymore. I have it pretty well setup. That includes ps2 and wii. I just updated my atomiswave to the newest demul. Is there really any point to up grade to hyperlaunch 3 if I have it running like I want?

I just started rebuilding my console emulator and built a new Hyperspin setup. It took me a while to get used to HL3, but I'm good with it now.

They say HS2 will require HL3 to be used.  Of course, HS 2 has been right around the corner for 3 years now.  If it works I wouldn't update.

The control remap in demul really P....D me off at first but now I know what to do it all becomes easier to understand why they did it.....I think :dunno Anyway, you set up your controls in demul for a certain game type outside of hyperspin/hyperlaunch and then have a look in the demul pad plugin. In there you will finde the controls you just mapped under Jamma or something like that, Copy the controls for p1 and p2 and paste them into the corresponding section in Hyperlauch>Modules>Demul>Demul (0.5.7).ini overwriting the existing controls. Do this for every control type you want to use and then in hyperlaunch HQ on the module settings page for the Roms you can specify which control type to use.
Hope that is clear, if not let me know and I will try and explain a bit better. Now I just need to try and get it running full speed again, I changed from XP to Win 7 64 and can't get DOA2 to run consistent anymore??

I know I need to do that process, I was mainly trying to get HS-->HL to just start the games first.  I'll follow the module notes provided process and go through adding the controls for a few games to the demul module.   I don't want to spend a lot of time on control setup until I have a cp ready to work with.

I've also got demul 0.5.8 on there and I think I'll delete it until I have everything running in o.5.7 to avoid confusion.

Thanks for the input.
