hey guys,
next up on my "to do" list is to add pedals to my cab. i have been buying any used wheel/pedals i've seen at thrift stores just to get the pedals. i'm curius, will game console / pc pedals work with dual strike hack (or uHID) or do the pots need to be the same (5v i believe)?
also, a quick question on pots. currently my add ons (star wars yoke, hang on handlebars) are using two dual strikes as the hang on handlebar uses 3 axises. each pot takes 3 wires. is it possible to share the common ground of each pot between axises? so, instead of taking 9 wires total, it would only take 7 wires as the common would be daisy chained.
thanks

3 axes would take 5 wires. You can share the 5v as well.

wow really? how about if the three axis are across two controller hacks?
appreciate the insight
EDIT: had a bit of time tonight to try some wiring. pedals i am using are wired exactly as you say, two points on the two pots are wired together with the third point being wired individually.
so, i mirrored the wiring up to my dual strike hack. under devices, if i look at that controller, the stick is centered. pushing down on gas moves the crosshair all the way to the right. releasing gas it goes back to the center. pressing the brake, the crosshair goes all the way to the left. ease up, back to center. so, my gas and brake are wired to joystick 2, x axis.
i'm not sure if that is right though. i've gone into two games and set the gas/brake to my pedals (again, joystick 2, x axis) and here are the results:
spy hunter - gas only. pressing on the pedal does nothing in game. i can set the control just fine and the config screen reports "joy 2 x axis" but in game, nada.
ridge racer - brake and gas. again, in the config screen, seems to be OK. but when the game starts, gas seems to already be pressed and the car just accelerates constantly.
i'm thinking my issue is that i have both gas/brake on one axis and think that maybe if i go x and y axis, it might clear up? no time to try this tonight but whatcha all think? might that fix this for me?
thanks, t

Sounds like some of the games are expecting single axis and some are expecting dual axis wiring.

Le Chuck researched it in this thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,121700.msg1292635.html#msg1292635) as part of his New Republic Flight Trainer.
Here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,121700.msg1293848.html#msg1293848) is a relay circuit that switches between single and dual axis wiring and a diagram of the voltages to expect on single axis as you press the brake/gas pedals.
