Title: Anyone fitted Contactors inside cp for pinball buttons?
Post by: Connorsdad on September 09, 2013, 03:19:53 am
I was wondering whether to fit Contactors inside my cp for feedback when the pinball flipper buttons are pressed. Has anybody done this ?
If so could you recommend which Contactors to purchase please.

No idea but from title my mind thought you wanted to put contactors in your control panel so that when you were playing a game hitting regualar buttons it would have a heavy tactile feedback. Loud as hell I am sure.

The Virtual Pinball cab guys do this (along with a lot of other mods). Though, I think they use solenoids, not contactors.

Here's a decent thread over at the Hyperspin Forums.

Martijn is using contactors in his MultiBall Madness II (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,134336.0.html) build and Maximus is using them in his Alchemy (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,130727.0.html) build .

Video of solenoids and discussion of contactors vs. solenoids starting here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,134336.msg1385439.html#msg1385439).

TL;DR version: most contactors use 12v, most pinball solenoids use 48v or more.
