Title: Arcade Cab Power
Post by: ark_ader on September 06, 2013, 06:39:42 am
This is a stupid question, but...

I have a bunch of UK wall warts that are rated to work in the US.  If I buy a 6 or 10 socket surge extender I could attach the wall warts, but in the UK you have 15amps maximum at 240v where USA has 120v (which is rated on the adapters) what is the maximum amperage on USA Power outlets?

I think anything more than 15 amps and Ill start popping breakers.

in the US most wall outlets in residences are 15A/120V with 14 gauge wiring.  Some are 20A with 12 gauge wiring, more common to see this in a kitchen, garage or in a commercial building.  Any different amps/voltage and you have to switch to a different plug type.
