Anyone know what the distance is between the sticks on dual joystick games like Smash TV? I'm laying out my CP and I'm trying to figure out how far to space them out for 1/2 player but still have them close enough together for dual stick games.
I mean, since I'm designing my own panel, I know I should just go with what is comfortable- but without sticks in my hands, it's hard to get a "feel" for it.
Just a ballpark is fine. What's working for you guys?

I'll give the ballpark answer, and one of the experts can come back with the exact distance. I believe the Robotron control panel has the joysticks 10" apart. On Smash TV, they're a little closer together (like 8" perhaps), to accommodate two players.

Different dualjoy games will have them different distances apart. If you have a normal sized cabinet (23"-25" wide), then you can't really get them too far apart. Although if you have one of those 6 foot frankenpanels then you might have a bit more trouble with it.

Yeah I think on Smash TV it's about 8" inches. On my "frankenpanel" which measures just at 4ft coincidentally, I spaced them out so there is 12" between each.... Feels great IMO at that spacing. ANyhow a piccie for reference.

Wow......a lot closer than I thought. Center-to-center is 6.5 inches.

6.5? That's a lot closer than I thought it would be. I have my layout at 9.25 center to center. It feels okay, at least as okay as pencils stuck in a piece of cardboard go, anyway.
I guess I can always build another CP. Thanks, everybody. :)
