Title: Golden Tee Fore: Need Some Cabinet Info -- Anyone Have One?
Post by: nipsmg on September 04, 2013, 10:55:22 am
I have a golden tee Fore! cabinet I converted to switch between Golden Tee Complete boardset and a MAME machine.

The original control panel was in horrible shape, so I created a new panel and put it in its place.  I unfortunately neglected to record some information about the original setup however.  I'm about to re-do the panel, and I'd love some info about the original panel / locks:

I'd love it if someone could either give me details (a drawing w/ dimensions and/or pictures would be awesome) of the following:

1: Location of CP panel locks + how do you physically engage them with the top panel closed?
2: Where the chain attaches both on the CP and wherever else it attaches (on the tray somewhere?)
3: Location of lower locks + how do you engage them with the tray slid in?
4: How the glass is secured in the cabinet. (I understand there's a metal piece at the top of the panel that seems to rest against the glass. Is this all that holds it in place?)
5: A picture of (or a location where I can purchase) the top marquee retainer.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

I have the same cab. I can help a bit with a few of your ?’s. The lower locks are accessed thru the coin door. I removed the cp locks as the weight of the cp is enough that I've never had an issue of it raising up during play. The chain attaches to the inside left or right side of the cp box and anywhere on the lid to hold it. I moved my chain a bit and fully open its at a 95 degree angle more or less. The glass slides up behind the speaker panel and rests on a lip at the bottom. With the cp closed it holds the glass secure. I will try to get some pics up, but my cab has been heavily modes so I could fit a 27" TV and my controls.

Can I ask how you went about switching between Golden Tee and Mame, I have a Silver Strike machine that I would like to do the same. Also, do you still need information on the cabinet?
