Title: not getting 100% speed with several games

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I couldn't really find a definitive answer.
First, my specs:

core 2 duo 2.2ghz
4gb ram
HD4350
winxp pro 64bit
sony pvm

I have tried several games in groovymame and almost all of them are under 100% speed.  I have attached a log for metal slug. it runs at 99.97%.  I tried it in regular MAME and it ran at 100%.

It's probably my CPU. I was only getting 58% speed playing splatterhouse pce version on groovyUME.

are you running 64bit?
I've got an E8500 and everything runs fine.. though I haven't actually tested splatterhouse

yep im running 64 bit. I'm using an E4500 which is quite a bit slower than your E8500.

Maybe see if you can source a newer CPU then, should be an easy upgrade..

I might grab an E8500 off ebay...can you run 3d games such as tekken 3 at full speed with your cpu?

Getting 99.97% speed doesn't mean a CPU issue, it's just that the achieved refresh is slightly off with respect to the theoretical speed MAME would expect, based on what it measures with the CPU clock (which you shouldn't take as God's word).

tekken 3 reports average speed of 94%, though it seems ok to me...

splatterhouse reports 99.87%
