Title: What games REQUIRE color buttons, or some such (Chicken Shift etc)
Post by: marioxb on August 28, 2013, 05:34:36 pm
I wonder if anyone ever made a list of arcade games that required your buttons to be a certain color? Required as in, the game says, "Push the blue button now." And I don't care about square button casino games or mahjong or anything Japanese that is not playable without knowing the language.

Off the top of my head,

Chicken Shift needs a blue and a red button (this would also work nicely for an NES emulator for Gyromite on Player 2's controller)
Trival Pursuit needs a red and green button
Nintendo Vs System should have blue, green, yellow and purple start buttons. Games like Vs SMB say 1P game- blue, 2P game green with no other indicators

anything else??

To a degree, Neo Geo. Most of em have button instruction segments that show color coded buttons. Not a huge deal since the buttons also numbered and all in the same order. Red, Yellow Green, Blue.

Wheel of Fortune (needs 3 colors, forgot what (Blue, Yellow, Red))

for Chicken Shift, I configured the pinball flipper buttons on the side of the control panel. I find it better gameplay.

Thanks guys. That's a good idea for Chicken Shift. For Neo Geo, PlayChoice, Vs System, etc, I will probably just label the buttons, A, B, C, D, etc.

There's no database detailing crazy questions like this is there? Am I crazy or did KLOV (when it still was KLOV) have a better search function than it does now?

Mouse Trap (Red, Yellow and Blue doors - Green for the dog).
