Title: Any hope for Guilty Gear?

I would love to get guilty gear running smooth without having to use some other emulator on my arcade cab.
The log for ggxx is attached although I have the same problem with ggx15.

The problem is it is being forced to run at 640x480i and is flickery/jumpy on my arcade monitor
It is also running at about half speed. The picture quality looks nice, but the flickering destroys my eyes.

the rom name is ggxx with the proper chd file
I am using an arcadevga 3000 card
My monitor is a Neotec 25" CGA/EGA Model:NT-2515C
The computer is running windows 7 64

Is there any hope getting these naomi games to run smoothly?
Or does GroovyUME support dreamcast games? I tried to setup NullDC on my arcade machine but I couldn't get it to display with out the flickering screen.

Sorry, I realized that I forgot the specs of my arcade PC.
Its an i3 3.3GHz with 8GB DDR3 RAM, windows 7 64.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is out for PS3 with online play.

True, but sadly its not as fun playing it on my bed on my PS3 as it is elbowing a friend while standing at the arcade cab.
It would be awesome to get it working on there.

Wouldn't be hard.  Get two MC Cthulhu's for controls.  As far as video, PS3 can output composite, s-video, component, RGB, and HDMI, all in a variety of resolutions, so it can work with pretty much everything.

Online is a must for me.  When there's not another skilled player around in person, the AI does not compare to a real person online.

Also, Guilty Gear XX #Reload is available for PC.  Not sure about online on that version.

Hmmm that could be pretty sweet once I get a PS4.
Will it output the RGB at 15KHz for the arcade monitor?

I'd focus on the PS3 rather than the 4.  No one knows what the deal is with the controllers yet.  It will take a while for an encoder to come out.  It's possible the Cthulhu will already work with it if the PS4 can use PS3 controllers, or the Cthulhu could be made compatible with a future firmware update.  Otherwise, you're looking at pad/other PCB hacks until something else comes along, which is doable, but why bother anyhow?  It will take a few years for a new console to build up a decent library, especially if you're looking for titles that are good with arcade controls, whereas the PS3 already has a huge selection of fighters and other stuff.

Anyhow, the PS1, 2, and 3 will all output 15kHz RGB.  You just need to get an RGB SCART cable, cut off the SCART end, and connect the appopriate wires to the right places on the monitor and audio inputs.  The same cable will work with all three systems (well I've personally done it with PS2 and PS3, I'm assuming PS1 is the same).

BTW, be sure not to use a PS3 to play PS1 and PS2 games.  The emulation causes lag, and it will always run in 480i, even if the game is supposed to be 240p.  A PS2 is cheap, it's fine for PS1 games, and both PS1 and PS2 will also work with the MC Cthulhu.

I meant that once i get the PS4 i could retire the 3 to the arcade cab.
I saw a video showing a PS2 hooked up to an arcade cab and they were even using the light gun...I'm sold!

Hi spookybonus,

It seems you're trying to force 640x480 by using an .ini file, that's fine, but make sure to specify the full resolution@refresh, e.g.: -resolution 640x480@60

Apart from that, interlaced resolutions are problematic under Windows 7, because they report a halved refresh rate that limits the effective emulation speed when v-syncing. There are currently two workarounds for GroovyMAME + W7 + interlaced modes:

1) -video ddraw (it will probably fail unless you use the still non-released CRT Emudriver for W7)

2) -video d3d -frame_delay 1 -syncrefresh

I tried option 2 (adding in the frame_delay 1 and syncrefresh lines) and sadly it was still at about half speed with crazy slow audio, plus all flickery since it was interlaced.

is there a way for force it to run not interlaced at a different resolution?
i wouldnt mind if the resolution was slightly off as long as it played smooth.
