Hi all,
I have problem with Demul. I know that new Demul 0.58 need DX10/11 so will work only on Vista/7/8. But I want to run Demul 0.57 (0.56 work ok) on my WinXP but emulator don't see GPU plugin? I have all plugins but I can't use GPU plugin. I dodn't know why, Demul 0.57 should be the last one that should work on XP!
So can someone tell me, if Demul 0.57 work fine on Win XP or not? If work what I should do?
Thx.

.57 came with a "legacy plugin" that would make it work on XP, but the results were horrible.
In Crazy Taxi, my car was missing the wheels and on the atomiswave racing games, the road surface was missing.
IMO, stick with .56 for XP.
Is there a particular game you want to use .57 for?

I want play a few games was added to Demul 0.57 (can't see it on 0.56 list when try tu run):
Atomiswave: Faster Than Speed, Maximum Speed, Samurai Shodown IV
Naomi/Naomi2: Asian Dynamite, Initial D Arcade Stage
I thought also new version = beter compatybility and graphic?

"better compatibility and graphics"....because of tools available in DirectX11, systems without DirectX11 see no improvement or in my experience, see regression.
Based on some things I've read, that is especially important for NAOMI2. I think it was because Dx11 can do some of the tricks that the original hardware did, while Dx9 cannot.....but I'm just a dumb end user
To play Faster Than Speed and Maximum Speed on XP, I'm using a WIP version of .57 that was leaked not long after .56 was released (before they abandoned Dx9).
From Feb 2011 if I remember correctly. You might be able to track it down.
It runs well on XP, but crashes when I try to run it fullscreen.
I'm running it windowed, but made the window the same size as my screen and positioned it so the header is off the top of the screen and can't be seen.
you can set the position of the window in the ini file. Make the y position negative to move it up (-10 or so).
In that version, the analog controls must be mapped under player 3 while the rest of the buttons must be mapped under P1.
I doubt the NAOMI2 stuff is working any better in it.
You'll need a bleeding edge top of the line processor and video card to have any chance of playing Initial D.
Not sure why you would be running XP on a system like that.

I have also Win7 x64 but have similar problem, I can't setup GPU plugin! I tried 0.58.1 and when I want configure it, I can't see any GPU, SPU or net plugin! I download 0.57 WIP and still have the same problem, still can't see GPU and net plugin (can use different ones so net plugin is not a big problem). Funny is, on my gf laptop I see GPU plugin but can't see SPU and net. On my ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- 2nd laptop (Asus EEEPC) I can't see GPU and SPU! All have standard WinXP SP3.
When I use this windows I also have problems with troubleshooter2 when I want to play lightgun games model2 or pc.
I forgot my config, I have Phenom II x4 960, 8GB, Nvidia GTX 660.

I had done something in the past and today we resume. aver what you think.
1) set Demul to the resolution of your desktop in windowed mode.
2) run the game.
3) open "fullscreen_demul.exe" ALT + LEFT MOUSE Button. move the window to the center, F3 emulator menu disappears.

Thanks, but I have an autohotkey script blacking out the frame.
I didn't mention it because I didn't want to get that involved in a long explanation. ;)
I'm moving on to Windows 7 soon so I can play the Gaelco games in Demul .58
