Does anything gets displayed on the screen while the IPAC is being programmed with a new codeset?
I finally got around to trying to re-program my keywiz so that I could use PC apps with hard-codedd keys and discovered that it displays a "window" on the screen during the programming.
I contacted RandyT about it and he explained why he needs to display a window that has focus during the programming of the keywiz, and he said that he would try and think of a way to make it less intrusive.
In case this doesn't hapen (or not soon enough) I'd consider switching to the IPAC, but only if it is fully stealth during programming (except for the issue above, I'm satisfied with my keywiz).

Yeah for RandyT!
Even though today is a Sunday he whipped up a test version of a stealth keywiz uploader and emailed it to me. (This version just opens a tiny, like 4 pixel wide, window in the corner of the screen). While maybe not a perfect solution yet, this addresses my problem at the moment.
Now that's customer service!

Why don't you like the window? Don't you want to know what its doing?

One option you might think about is creating a shortcut to the KeyWiz utility, then edit its properties and tell it to start 'minimized.' Then you could run various programs to keep your start menu hidden at all times and you will never ever see the window open (even on the taskbar since it's hidden also).

Eightbit, no I don't like the window popping over my lovingly crafted skin every time I select a new PC game. I guess it's the same issue as people trying to "hide" XP and the like. Just a matter of personal preference I guess...

Tried it, doesn't work, I think that has something to do with the program needing to have focus while running (?).
Like I said RandyT sent me a "tiny window" version of it, so I'm happy.

It's good to see that RandyT is supporting his product so well.
To answer the original question for those that may want to know. IPac does have a /S option to suppress all messages during programming.

btw - The IPAC also displays a window while it's reprogramming (WinIPAC untility). It sometimes takes a few seconds to complete and you don't want to be hitting keys while it's running, so the window doesn't bother me.

I have never used the WinIpac utility, so I was not aware of the window. I only use the DOS version under Win98SE.
