This will be the first MAME cabinet I have ever made. I have 2-days in the build so far. I've been reading up on a lot of the posts in this forum and there's a lot of good info here! Anyway, I still have quite a bit of work to go but, here's a few pics so far:

Looks like some very clean work there. What size screen do you have looks like 26" widescreen. How are you planning on finishing off the front?

Thanks. It's a 32". The cabinet is pretty big. Designed to fit a certain space in a game room and the guy I'm building it for wanted enough space between player1 and player2.
The front and rear will have rabbit-joint removable panels. Eventually, it will all be painted black with black&chrome t-molding and a Mortal Kombat graphics theme. This is the cabinet design he liked:

Good source material, great work for only two days! As AJ would undoubtedly say, "subscribed!"

A little progress made

That thing is a mammoth. My issue with anything larger than 27" is that when you stand that close, it just feels too large. Best of luck to you but this thread should probably be moved to the Project Announcement Thread.

That's a great looking cabinet, I think both players will have plenty of room :applaud:

Thanks! Yeah, I have to admit...a friend of mine and I stood side-by-side and took a measurement lol!so using a 32" monitor worked out great because it fit the dimensions we were looking for. :)

Controls install done. Wiring is done (now that I know everything is working i'll bust out the zip ties). Just need to make the bezel and marquee. Order the graphics and slap on some t-molding. And if i ever get the damn software completely configured i'll be done with this damn thing!

Checking out the mock-up graphics. I have a little fixing to do on the sides but, overall i'm happy. The marquee looks good and the front logo looks good as well. I'm hoping to wrap this thing up this week.

Looking good! If you move this to the 'Project Announcements' section, you will get more traffic/feedback.
-
...and you have the chrome t-molding on order, right? It's coming soon? I can't wait any more! You're so close! It looks beautiful.
:D
-
Actually i got a black/chrome t-molding already. I have a couple of spots to touch up with paint and then i will put the t-molding on. I think it will look pretty good. Thanks for the compliments! Much appreciated.

Thank you!

My only nitpick would be how the artwork on the sides looks squished to fit on the narrow sides. That's a peeve of mine (like stretching video to fit a widescreen). On the whole, good job!
-
Wow great job.
I'm still planning to build a cab...
...Puts me to shame, you've done in one month what I still haven't done in six years.
You've given me some Ideas of what to do with my 32" TV once I upgrade...I would go for SFIV though ;)
